My latest speaker config.

Postby dougj » Sun May 16, 2010 6:20 pm

Here is my latest setup featuring a single Peerless 8" HDS- Nomex woofer. This speaker has a rubber surround and polypropylene cone so should be fairly resistant to the elements. It is rated @ 8ohms and has a sensitivity of 89.3db so is easilly driven fronm the SFX6 however this speaker has the dynamics to be driven even louder should a higher wattage amplifier become available.

Well, have I ever got good news for you!! One of the new products we have under development is a high voltage (25-50Volts) High Power (125Watts perchannel x 2) dual channel amplifier. What is the maximum power handing of your nice Peerless speaker? When driven from our new amp. it will really thump that main gun sound!!

We can't promise an availability date yet - we're still in the prototype stage.

Max long term power rating is 100W (IEC 18.3) so should work well with this new amp.

Having more amplifier grunt will allow me to increase the dynamic range even further (provided the speaker can take this additional load) What I mean by that is i can set all my engine sounds to around 30% max volume and have the cannon still at 100% Which should make my neighbourhood cats climb a tree or two during my weekend patrols
