King Tiger tank camera test video

Postby dougj » Mon May 24, 2010 4:53 am

Heres a quick video I took today after giving my tank a bit of an overhaul the past few weeks. It is now powered by 4x 4s 5000mah packs wired in parallel replacing the 2 leas acids I was using previously. Also changed the speaker to a single 8" driver (see other thered for details) which is a huge improvement. See how the image now shakes when the cannon is fired

Other tweaks were done to the SFX6 which is powered bt a seperate 26v 6s lipo pack including the new turret sounds mod using Engine2 but that still requires more work as I can only get sounds to trigger in one direction only.

Next up on my things to do is to incorporate some sort of muzzle flash using the SFX6.

Our new SFXPC3.0.5e release now has the bidirectional turrret turning sound feature. The new release can be downloaded at www.modelsolutions.ca/downloads. You can get the full CD-ROM contents (advisable as the manuals have changed a bit) or just the firmware upgrade.

When using the turret turning feature you nudge the turret stick left or right a bit to start the turret startup sound, and as the stick is moved left or right the speed of the turret sound will increase. When the stick is returned to the centre position the turret stop turning sound will play (if there is one).

Note : If you return the stick to centre immediately after nudging it to start up the turret sound without moving the stick further, the sound will continue to play. You have to move the stick beyond the initial startup position in order for it to switch off in the centre position. This is either a bug, or a feature, depending on how you look at it!!.

We will try to fix that issue in a future release. We have done a little more work towards the throttle range feature we are planning. It has to take turns with all our other development work though, not to mention filling customer orders of course!.

Incidentally we have a very positive product review, and an advert in the July issue of the U.S. FLY RC magazine - hope you can look at it in a bookstore!

Thanks very much for this and very glad to hear the throttle range enhancement is under development however im having an issue trying to download the new software as suggested as both the CD rom content and firmware only are saving as a text file. Just clicking on the links opens reams of code!!!

Sorry about that guys. It's been fixed now. Both files are ZIP files and the first link has been corrected.
